On the occasion of the celebrations for the fifth centenary of the death of Leonardo, many initiatives dedicated to the genius of “Mona Lisa” and “Last Supper” throughout Italy.
Among these, in the heart of Milan opens from March 1 to June 30 “ Leonardo and Warhol in Milano | The genius experience ”, an exhibition dedicated to two protagonists of their respective epochs that have had in their Milanese capital their meeting point, even if four centuries later.
The exhibition is a journey through time, from the Milan of the fifteenth century to the vertical of our days, which allows visitors to discover the city lived, designed and imagined by the Master, through images of great suggestion and immersive projections, until arriving to the vision of The Last Supper by Andy Warhol, the work with which in 1986 the father of American pop art reinterpreted Leonardo’s masterpiece.
The exhibition could only be hosted inside the Crypt of San Sepolcro, the oldest underground church in Milan, defined by Leonardo Da Vinci as the “true center” of the city, where Cardo and Decumano crossed.
Designed by the MilanoCard Group and edited by Giuseppe Frangi, “ Leonardo and Warhol in Milan | The genius experience” it is produced in co-production with the Veneranda Pinacoteca and Biblioteca Ambrosiana and the Credito Valtellinese Foundation.
